I didn’t know they existed until I started reading about shortbread recently! I tend to not buy extra kitchen things, but I must confess I bought a small vintage wood cookie press (for a single cookie, not the 8” ones). What’s your take on the molds?
I learned about the shortbread molds by reading your newsletter. I've previously seen European-made cookies with the imprinted designs on top, but I had no idea how they were made. I would love to have one of the Brown Bag molds recommended in the first shortbread recipe you linked, but it may not happen this winter. I suppose my take on molds is that they make shortbread cookies "perfect" and I appreciated your following through on this newsletter's theme of not needing cookies to be perfect.
Thank you for not using a shortbread mold. :)
